The USS Hornet Museum is a legendary warship anchored on the shores of Alameda, CA. The aircraft carrier turned museum boasts an impressive display of military aircraft and memorabilia from WW2, Vietnam and the Apollo lunar landings. During the period after the 911 attacks, the museum suffered a decline in revenue. The museum needed to increase attendance, charitable contributions and financial support from the community. With a limited budget, Engine developed an effective advertising plan to help them achieve those objectives. A two-pronged campaign was developed targeting history enthusiasts as well as the general public. This approach successfully helped generate awareness and increased attendance with both demographic groups. The campaign deliverables included print, transit, television and radio.
